New in town: TANYU — China’s famous grilled fish opens its first flagship outlet in Malaysia at Pavilion KL

If you’ve been travelling to Singapore for a taste of TANYU‘s tasty grilled fish, we’ve got wonderful news! They have opened their first flagship outlet in Malaysia at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.

Originating from Shenzhen, TANYU is one of the most popular grilled fish chain restaurants in China. They have a whopping 300+ outlets across 72 major cities in mainland China. Located on the 7th floor in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, the outlet is decked with a balance of vintage décor and attractive neon lights.

We started off with the Chongqing Cold Noodles with Shredded Chicken (RM22.90). The cold noodles paired perfectly with the aromatic and mouth-numbing spices, an absolute slurp-worthy dish.

Known for their grilled fish menu with 8 exciting flavours, TANYU also offers its customers 4 types of fish to choose from. Their fish are all fresh and weigh 800gm to 950gm each.

We were spoiled for choice and opted for 2 types of flavours with the recommended Limbo Fish: Grilled Fish With Fresh Green Pepper (RM119.90), for those who enjoy a bit of heat and Grilled Fish with Soy Sauce (RM119.90), if you are unable to tolerate spice.

Don’t forget to include the Golden Combination (RM36.90) to your grilled fish. This dish consists of enoki mushrooms, chicken luncheon meat, potatoes and lotus roots. These ingredients absorb the gravy and is a real treat alongside the tender, flaky fish.

TANYU may be known far and wide for their grilled fish but we thoroughly enjoyed the creamy Grilled Eggplant (RM19.90) which had a layer of minced garlic spread finely on top.

Still hankering for more seafood? Dig into TANYU’s Grilled Tiger Prawns (RM21.90). Despite the misleading tough outer shell, the prawn meat was extremely juicy and succulent.

To end the meal on a sweet note, we had one of TANYU’s popular desserts, Double Taste Rice Cakes (RM19.90). Half of the cake was made of original rice cake and the other half was made of black sesame. This sweet treat was generously coated with maple syrup. Divine!

Hungry for the taste of grilled fish? Head over to Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and relish the taste of China today.
