PR, 44, is 35th patient to die from Covid-19 complications in S’pore

With 16 new Covid-19 cases on June 21, 2021, Singapore now has a total of 62,430 cases so far.

Three of these cases are currently unlinked.

The Ministry of Health confirmed on the same night that a 44-year-old Singapore Permanent Resident (PR) has passed away from complications due to Covid-19 infection on June 20.

He is the 35th fatality in Singapore.

The patient was admitted to Alexandra Hospital on May 25, and was confirmed with the virus on the next day.

He had not been vaccinated against Covid-19, and had a history of diabetes mellitus.

Alexandra Hospital is extending assistance to the man’s family, MOH added.

134 cases in hospital

According to the latest data provided by the ministry, 134 confirmed cases are in the hospital.

Of these, most are stable or improving, and none is in the intensive care unit.

191 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19.
